The Grassroots Music Awards are presented annually to recognise, honour and reward outstanding achievement within the independent music community and build stars of the future.

Being nominated is a significant accolade and an opportunity to celebrate. Winners are chosen through a combination of industry panel judging and public vote — ensuring the awards reflect both professional expertise and genuine audience support.

We keep the process simple, transparent and rooted in what we do best — discovering and supporting great music.
Music Submission
Artists submit their music to Radio Wigwam for airplay consideration.
Airplay
If we love it, we play it. All submissions are listened to by our team, and selected tracks receive airplay across our platform.
Eligibility
Music that has been created by artists played on the station are automatically considered for relevant award categories.
Nominations
A shortlist of nominees is created based on airplay, impact, consistency and panel review.
Judging & Public Vote
Winners are decided through a combination of expert industry judging and public vote — blending credibility with our strong community voice.
The Ceremony
Each January, the independent music community comes together to celebrate the nominees and winners at our annual awards event. It’s a night of recognition, connection and celebration — and often the start of exciting new chapters for those involved.
